A Scrapbook Goodies Yard Sale... hmmmm..... but why would any scrapbooker want to get rid of their scrapbooking goods? Well, Most scrapbookers have been at it for a quite a while. Over the years we accumulate massive amounts of paper, embellishments and tools. There are things we just want to cycle out of our stash. That's all! What is one crafter's trash is another's treasure! So true, so true! Why all the paper you might ask... Well, my friend Lori will tell you that, "It speaks to her!" I know that I can relate to this. It also has the best smell when you unpack it from the box.... it smells like...Paper, beautiful, wonderful paper! Paper is the foundation, the one scrapbooking product, we need for any project. We need the embellishments to go with all of paper we buy. It compliments the paper and just looks so darn pretty on our layouts and projects! I have vowed NEVER to buy paper without buying the embellishments ever again. I end up with stacks of paper and nothing to match. Lesson learned! And the tools that we need for scrapbooking... they are "must haves." Just part of the entire scrapbooking experience. Scissors, Cutters, Adhesives! So, I wish The Scrapbook Princess a very successful Yard Sale .... and I hope everyone will find some wonderful, crafty treasures!

Lori and I went to Fredericksburg, Texas a few summers ago and had the best time. We went to the scrapbook store Journey Lane and it was so much fun! Scrapbook goodies everywhere! I love these cute felt birds by Sassafras Lass. The paper is My Little Shoebox. Both two of my favorite scrapbook companies. They always have the most **whimsical **happy** paper and embellishments.

I used to make wreaths years ago... and before Easter I decided to gather all the supplies to make a Spring and Summer wreath for my front door. I love the bright cheery flowers. For an added "happy" I placed two sweet little birds I found after the wreath was complete. Such a cute addition!

It does the soul good to get away for a weekend of laughter, scrapbooking and just good fellowship with the girlfriends. This past weekend I was at the "Sweet Retreat" in Galant, Alabama. It was wonderful. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the time with friends was priceless.

I cannot believe these pictures were taken a year ago, right around the corner from our house! Fall is my favorite time of year. We are already seeing signs of fall, the leaves on our Crepe Myrtles are starting to change colors.It is starting to get dark earlier in the afternoons. Pretty soon we will see a palette of gorgeous Fall colors. God sure does paint a beautiful picture!

My Daughter the Teacher!

I cannot believe I now have a daughter who is a teacher. She is a 9th grade World History teacher at that. We are very proud of her accomplishments... she will, without a doubt "wow" her students with her quick wit and bubbly personality... She will make them want to learn with her enthusiastic love of History and Life. And when the year ends... they will say..."Thank you, Ms. Savage, for making learning fun"!

Friday Night December 12th my first born walked across the stage at the University of North Alabama and received her College Diploma. We are so very PROUD of her. Megan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Sciences and a Minor in History.

Another Storms 'a Comin'!!!!

I cannot believe there is another Hurricane with it's sights on the Gulf Coast. So many people were affected by Hurricane Katrina 3 years ago. Now, it looks like Hurricane Gustav is going to head to or near THE BIG EASY again! I sure hope it doesn't intensify to a Category 3 Storm... but when it hits the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico... it won't be good! I'm watching and waiting to see if my parent's will head this direction in the next few days.

On a side note... my parent's just got their house totally completed this year after the damages they encountered from Katrina.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who will be affected by this storm!

My friend Lori (San Antonio) came for a visit and we were able to spend the day with our good friend Laura Beene, who is from Alabama and who is stateside from Germany for the summer. We started our day with "coffee and conversation" before heading to one of our favorite places... VERA BRADLEY. It just got better as the day went on... Scrapbook stores, Jim and Nicks,and then more shopping. WOW!!!! We laughed, shared stories... just had good ol' girlfriend time! At the end of the day we had to say good bye and send Laura on her way. Laura Beene... We sure do miss you! hugs, hugs, hugs!!!!!

I can't believe it has been a year since Creative Escape.Well...in just two short weeks I will be packing up and headed back to Phoenix for another round of Creative Escape. OKAY - I am in San Antonio ... tomorrow at 3:00 am (yes, in the morning) I am boarding an Amtrak train and heading out WEST to Los Angeles! A little business, a little pleasure. Going to see Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson... very, very exited!!!!

Chicago or Bust... CHA Bound!!!

I'm flying out tomorrow ... headed to the Windy City! I will be at CHA (Trade Show) until Sunday. I can't wait to see ALL the new Scrapbooking Goodies!!!! I made sure to pack comfy shoes... my Yellow Box flip flops have never failed me; and my Merrill's.

I leave for California on the following Wednesday... I'll post more about that trip later. But I will say "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" are our sources of transportation for the trip!!!

I will be posting from Chicago each night... letting you know all about the products that we just can't live without.

Busy Busy Summer!!!

It has been a very busy summer.... so far... and it's not over yet...

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. I spent two wonderful weeks in Texas, San Antonio,Austin,Fredricksburg,Kerrville... at the end of May/June. Shopping, Scrapbooking Retreats, Crops... fun fun. Then it was home for 4 days and on to the East coast for A Disney Adventure. Philly, Washington D.C, and Colonial Williamsburg. Wow! It was AWESOME! History came ALIVE!!!!

I'm leaving for CHA - Chicago on July 17th... VERY EXCITED about this.

Well, today is July 4th - I can hear fireworks going off outside.
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing day of CELEBRATION.

I have made a decision to be more faithful to post on my blog... even if it is "short and sweet". Right now I have been very BUSY getting ready for my cruise. I flew to San Antonio two weeks ago and WORKED like crazy on props, class kits, make-n-takes, door prizes, VIP goodies, All the "goodies" our cropper's will be getting. We even had a Pre-cruise party with a Chocolate bar.

We packed everything up and now it's countdown time. An 8 day scrapbooking cruise to the Caribbean. I am so looking forward to this. We will sail out of Galveston on Voyager of the Sea.

I PRAY we will have calm waters!!!!!

WOW!!! All I can say is this Escape was "OVER THE TOP". I thought I'd share some of my pictures and stories with you.
This first set of pictures is of the Bazzill Paper Warehouse. We were able to tour with Joey(our Bazzill girlfriend). It was amaziing to see how the paper is cut, sorted, labeled, placed in boxes and shipped. What a treat! We LOVE our BAZZILL!!!!

Yep, I've been washing, ironing, packing and gathering my scrapbook supplies for my trip to...Arizona. I can't believe it's finally here, my highly anticipated "Creative Escape Adventure".
I am so very excited about this trip. Not only will I be sharing this trip with some wonderful friends, I will have the opportunity to Learn some new creative techniques. That's always fun.

I fly out next Tuesday and will be gone 12 glorious days. I know... CE only lasts 3 days - but my friend Lori and I are going to venture to Sedona and explore. We are even taking a "Pink" Jeep tour. I'm so excited about that.

We will head to San Antonio (this is where Lori lives) the following Tuesday and start preparations for our February "Crop'n Cruise" hosted by Scrapbook Heaven (San Antonio). I will be very busy. Check out their website at www.scrapbook-heaven.com

I will try to fit some computer time in while I'm gone.

Weekend away with my kids...

I'll be leaving this morning and heading to Florence to spend the weekend with my two kiddos. I am looking forward to spending time with them. I plan to do some shopping with both of them, watch movies and stock their pantry and fridge with goodies. I'll probably do some "mommy" cooking too.

The "Day" has finally come....

when I can say we are total "empty nesters". I have so many
emotions going on right now. It's hard to believe both my kids are
away at college. This will certainly be a year of adjustment.
I guess I'll have to spend more time scrapbooking. Hey, that's
not such a bad idea! It will give me more time to post on my
blog.

Words cannot express how excited I am to be working on my ..."Scrapbooking Studio". Yes, we moved the kids up to college and along with them went our den furniture. I have been waiting patiently for this time to come.

Kelly and I have drawn up a design and I am now in the process of painting shelves and the custom table he built me.(VERY nice indeed) Next, come the cabinets, work space and lighting. When it is all finished I will be able to have other "Scrap Divas" over to scrapbook. Lots of room for all.

I will post pictures as soon as it is presentable.

I lost my gallbladder!!!!!

Yep, as most of you know, I was in horrible pain for about 4 weeks before being diagnosed with gallstones. I had surgery last WED, May 30th and no long have a gallbladder. My doctor (surgeon) said everything went well. Yeah!!!!! I am VERY thankful for that.

Now, I am on the road to recovery. It has been one week today and I am up and dressed. I even have my hair and make-up complete. That is a big accomplishment.

So... now what... well, I just want to get my energy back and start scrapbooking again.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for me and sent happy thoughts my way. I appreciate your well wishes.

Some of Megan's friends from UNA came to visit during Spring Break. We had just finished eating dinner when we heard the "Ice Cream" truck rolling through our neighborhood. Everyone jumped up and ran outside. It was just like being a kid again! It was funny that each one of us had our own favorite ice cream treat. *Above - Megan and I enjoy our ice cream!

I don't normally need anything to smile about because I usually smile all the time.. Hey, life's fun! Anyway, on Saturday morning Katie made me smile REALLY big. This was so great!
