Getting away for a Scrappy Weekend!

It does the soul good to get away for a weekend of laughter, scrapbooking and just good fellowship with the girlfriends. This past weekend I was at the "Sweet Retreat" in Galant, Alabama. It was wonderful. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the time with friends was priceless.

What a great week at CHA! It's always exciting to see what the new products are but I also get to spend time with great friends. I love seeing all the beautiful projects and layouts. So much talent under one big roof!

Are you ready for Fall!

I cannot believe these pictures were taken a year ago, right around the corner from our house! Fall is my favorite time of year. We are already seeing signs of fall, the leaves on our Crepe Myrtles are starting to change colors.It is starting to get dark earlier in the afternoons. Pretty soon we will see a palette of gorgeous Fall colors. God sure does paint a beautiful picture!

My Daughter the Teacher!

I cannot believe I now have a daughter who is a teacher. She is a 9th grade World History teacher at that. We are very proud of her accomplishments... she will, without a doubt "wow" her students with her quick wit and bubbly personality... She will make them want to learn with her enthusiastic love of History and Life. And when the year ends... they will say..."Thank you, Ms. Savage, for making learning fun"!

Well... She's a College Graduate! WOO HOO!

Friday Night December 12th my first born walked across the stage at the University of North Alabama and received her College Diploma. We are so very PROUD of her. Megan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Sciences and a Minor in History.

Thanksgiving fun!

Well, I have been a VERY BAD blogger... but have no fear funny Thanksgiving Pictures are here. My family did take any "formal" dressy pictures this year.We just snapped some casual fun pictures. We are so very Blessed. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I love these two kids!

It's almost Halloween and I decided to post this picture of my two kiddos dressed up for a Halloween Mixer last year (college). They have always had the best time dressing up - Laughing and just having fun! I wonder what they will be this year!?!? Whatever it is they will have a blast.

Another Storms 'a Comin'!!!!

I cannot believe there is another Hurricane with it's sights on the Gulf Coast. So many people were affected by Hurricane Katrina 3 years ago. Now, it looks like Hurricane Gustav is going to head to or near THE BIG EASY again! I sure hope it doesn't intensify to a Category 3 Storm... but when it hits the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico... it won't be good! I'm watching and waiting to see if my parent's will head this direction in the next few days.

On a side note... my parent's just got their house totally completed this year after the damages they encountered from Katrina.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who will be affected by this storm!

A day with my Girlfriends!

My friend Lori (San Antonio) came for a visit and we were able to spend the day with our good friend Laura Beene, who is from Alabama and who is stateside from Germany for the summer. We started our day with "coffee and conversation" before heading to one of our favorite places... VERA BRADLEY. It just got better as the day went on... Scrapbook stores, Jim and Nicks,and then more shopping. WOW!!!! We laughed, shared stories... just had good ol' girlfriend time! At the end of the day we had to say good bye and send Laura on her way. Laura Beene... We sure do miss you! hugs, hugs, hugs!!!!!

Wow... it's been one whole year since...

I can't believe it has been a year since Creative Escape.Well...in just two short weeks I will be packing up and headed back to Phoenix for another round of Creative Escape. This picture was taken with Priscilla and Lori at our farewell dinner. Priscilla is one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet!

CHA was VERY OVERWHELMING!!!!

Okay, I had every intention of posting from CHA each night... HA! BIG HA!!! It was VERY-VERY Late when we got back to our room and then we poured over catalogs... YIKES! We saw so many wonderful new Goodies!!!! So, in saying all of this... just wait until you LSS's start receiving all the "Scrapbooking Goodness"!!!!!

OKAY - I am in San Antonio ... tomorrow at 3:00 am (yes, in the morning) I am boarding an Amtrak train and heading out WEST to Los Angeles! A little business, a little pleasure. Going to see Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson... very, very exited!!!!

Chicago or Bust... CHA Bound!!!

I'm flying out tomorrow ... headed to the Windy City! I will be at CHA (Trade Show) until Sunday. I can't wait to see ALL the new Scrapbooking Goodies!!!! I made sure to pack comfy shoes... my Yellow Box flip flops have never failed me; and my Merrill's.

I leave for California on the following Wednesday... I'll post more about that trip later. But I will say "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" are our sources of transportation for the trip!!!

I will be posting from Chicago each night... letting you know all about the products that we just can't live without.
